Live Potential Profit Guide
Overview
The Live Potential Profit feature provides real-time profit projections for active and recently closed trading cycles. This allows investors to track their potential earnings before cycle settlement, giving transparency into ongoing performance.
What is Live Potential Profit?
Live Potential Profit shows you how much profit your investment might generate based on the current reserve balances (broker accounts and blockchain wallets) compared to the starting capital. These are projections based on current unrealised positions and may change before the cycle is officially settled.
Where to Find It
You can view your Live Potential Profit on your Manage My Investments dashboard:
- Navigate to your investor dashboard
- Look for cycle cards with status "Active" or "Closed"
- The Live Potential Profit section appears in a blue-bordered box above the standard cycle information
Understanding the Display
The Live Potential Profit section shows four key metrics:
1. Projected Profit (Your Share)
This is your estimated share of the total cycle profit based on:
- Your capital contribution to the cycle
- Current performance tier
- Your percentage ownership of the cycle
Example: If you invested $5,000 and the cycle is currently up 13%, your projected profit might be $325.
2. Potential Annualised Return
This projects your return rate over a full year based on current performance and days elapsed.
Formula: (Current Return % × 365) / Days in Cycle
Example: A 5% return after 30 days would project to ~61% annualised return.
⚠️ Note: This is a projection only and assumes the same rate continues for a full year, which is unlikely in real trading conditions.
3. Total Cycle Profit
The total profit earned by the entire cycle across all reserve accounts (broker accounts and wallets).
Example: "$8,850.06" means the entire cycle has generated this much profit so far.
4. Days Elapsed
How many days the cycle has been active since it started.
Example: "23 days" shows the cycle has been running for 23 days.
How It's Calculated
Step 1: Current Reserve Balance
The system queries all active reserve accounts linked to the opportunity:
- Broker accounts (e.g., MT5 trading accounts)
- Blockchain wallets (e.g., treasury wallets)
Step 2: Calculate Total Profit
Total Cycle Profit = Current Reserve Balance - Starting Capital
Example:
- Current Balance: $72,385.34
- Starting Capital: $63,535.28
- Total Profit: $8,850.06
Step 3: Apply Tiered Distribution
Profit is distributed based on performance tiers:
| Profit % | Tier | Investor Share | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| < 3% | Tier 1 | 100% | Investor Only Rule |
| 3-6% | Tier 2 | Scaled | Gradually transitions from 100% to normal split |
| ≥ 6% | Tier 3 | 50% (typical) | Normal distribution based on your role |
Example: At 13.93% profit (Tier 3), if investor share is 50%, then $8,850.06 × 0.50 = $4,425.03 goes to all investors.
Step 4: Calculate Your Share
Your individual share is based on your percentage of the total cycle capital:
Your Share = Total Investor Pool × Your Ownership %
Example:
- Total Investor Pool: $4,425.03
- Your Ownership: 8.57%
- Your Projected Profit: $4,425.03 × 0.0857 = $379.19
Important Disclaimers
⚠️ Projections vs. Actual Settlement
Live Potential Profit shows projections based on current unrealised positions. The actual profit you receive at settlement may differ because:
- Unrealised positions may change - Open trades can move up or down before closing
- Swap and commission fees - Ongoing holding costs affect final profit
- Market volatility - Prices fluctuate constantly
- Tier changes - If profit percentage crosses tier thresholds (3% or 6%), distribution ratios change
When Profits Are Finalised
Profits become final only when:
- The cycle is closed by administrators
- All trading positions are liquidated
- Final balances are verified
- Profits are distributed to investor accounts
Once distributed, profits move from "projected" to "settled" status and appear in green boxes on your dashboard.
Color Coding
- Blue boxes = Live Potential Profit (projections, may change)
- Green boxes = Settled Profit (finalised, already in your account)
Use Cases
1. Performance Monitoring
Track how your investment is performing in real-time without waiting for cycle settlement.
2. Decision Making
Use projections to inform decisions about redeploying profits or withdrawing when the cycle settles.
3. Transparency
See the same reserve balance data that administrators see on their /admin/reserves page.
4. Expectation Management
Understand potential returns and plan your financial strategy accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my projected profit keep changing?
A: It reflects current unrealised positions in active trades. As market prices move, your projected profit adjusts accordingly.
Q: Can my projected profit go negative?
A: Yes, if the current reserve balance is less than starting capital, the cycle is currently at a loss. This is temporary and may recover.
Q: When will I actually receive my profit?
A: You receive profit only after the cycle is closed, all positions are settled, and administrators run the profit distribution process.
Q: Why is the annualised return so high?
A: Annualised returns are extrapolations based on short time periods. A 5% return in 30 days projects to 61% annually, but this rate is unlikely to continue for a full year.
Q: Does live profit match what admins see on /admin/reserves?
A: Yes, it uses the exact same calculation methodology as the "Opportunity Live Balances" shown on the admin reserves page.
Q: What if I see zero profit on an active cycle?
A: This could mean:
- The cycle just started and positions haven't moved yet
- Current positions are break-even
- There's a temporary data lag in updating broker account balances

- Blockchain Wallet Balances: Updated via periodic blockchain scanning
- Starting Capital: Set by administrator when cycle begins (manual entry, verified)
Calculation Formula
// 1. Get current balance from all reserve accounts
currentBalance = sum(brokerAccounts.currentBalance) + sum(wallets.currentBalance)
// 2. Calculate total cycle profit
totalProfit = currentBalance - startingCapital
// 3. Calculate profit percentage
profitPercentage = (totalProfit / startingCapital) * 100
// 4. Apply tiered distribution
if (profitPercentage < 3%) {
investorShareFraction = 1.0 // 100% to investors
} else if (profitPercentage < 6%) {
// Scaled transition from 100% to normal split
investorShareFraction = scaledValue
} else {
investorShareFraction = 0.5 // 50% typical (varies by opportunity)
}
// 5. Calculate your individual share
totalInvestorShare = totalProfit × investorShareFraction
yourShare = totalInvestorShare × yourOwnershipPercentage
